The Danish research infrastructure for chemical biology, DK-OPENSCREEN, was inaugurated on Tuesday. Stakeholders from academia, industry and government had shown up at the Department of Chemistry at the Technical University of Denmark for the milestone day.
At the inauguration, there were speeches from Katrine Krogh Andersen, Dean of Research at DTU, Prof. Erling H. Stenby, Head of Department of DTU Chemistry, and Mads H. Clausen, Director of DK-OPENSCREEN.

The infrastructure will guarantee that biologists have access to compounds with the potential to modulate biological systems, while chemists have a platform for testing the biological activity of their molecules.
DK-OPENSCREEN is a collaboration between four partner universities: Technical University of Denmark, University of Copenhagen, Aalborg University and Aarhus University. The platform also received funding from the Danish Ministry of Higher Education and Science.
After Mads H. Clausen’s speech, Platform Manager Dr. Faranak Nami pushed a green button, which activated a robot in the laboratory hosting the new compound library - proving that DK-OPENSCREEN had officially been launched.
